Healing Paths Counseling

Life is meant to be lived fully, but often there are circumstances that get in the way of our ability to engage at the level that we want to. Whether that is a trauma or loss or a major life stressor that has made life seem unbearable, you can receive help and there is hope of moving forward and living life to the fullness of your potential.

Welcome to Healing Paths Counseling. It is not easy to take the steps toward inner healing but you showing up here is a courageous first step.

About
Rachel Slemons
MACP Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate
Pronouns: she/her

My counseling practice stems from the belief that each and every human has value and deserves to be seen and heard, regardless of age, background, or status. I work with individual adults and adolescents employing trauma-informed care on your path to recovery from life’s difficulties.

I practice a holistic, strengths-based, and person-centered approach, working with you toward your individual goals within therapy. My practice comes from a trauma-informed and anti-oppression lens and I greatly value somatic and inner mind-body connection work which is incorporated through mindfulness and talk therapy.

I work with a wide range of individuals, although most are coming to me for some kind of trauma therapy. I currently work with adults and older adolescents.

A few of my areas of focus include working with:

  • Women

  • Developmental trauma

  • Religious trauma

  • LGBTQIA+

  • Relationship issues

  • Family of origin

  • Depression and anxiety

  • Compassion fatigue

  • Highly sensitive people

  • Late diagnosed Autism and ADHD

I received my Masters in Counseling Psychology from Northwest University in 2019 and started my private practice in 2020. When I’m not in a therapy session, you can find me hanging out with my partner and two kiddos. We are often outside enjoying the beautiful PNW, doing photography, hiking, and playing on the beach. I also enjoy spending time exploring thrift stores and coffee shops and curling up at home with a cozy blanket, a good book, and watching the latest season of Bridgerton.
